Standard guidelines for uniforms, equipment and weapons I UNIFORMS AND EQUIPMENT 1. Every member regardless of paratrooper or glider trooper impression should have items from Section A and items from Sections B or C or D for his specific combat impression. SECTION A: Minimum items required: 1. Helmet, M-1 (Glider Troops), or Helmet M1C/M2 (Paratroops), Complete w/ correct liner 2. Belt, Cartridge, 3. Bag, Field, M-1936, (aka Musette bag- Paratroops or Glider Troops) and Suspenders M1936 4. Canteen and Canteen Cup (war-dated) and Cover, Canteen, Dismounted M1910 (Mounted canteen cover is permissable for paratroopers) 5. Tool, Entrenching, T-Handle or M1943 Collapsible w/Carrier 6. Bayonet 10 or 16 inch (For use with M1 rifle, 16 inch for early war impression) 7. Pouch, First Aid and Bandage, 8. Blanket, Wool, 2 each. 9. Can, Meat, M1942 (mess kit) and Sthingy, Fork, and Knife, 1 set. 10. Cot, Wood-frame (Khaki or OD green canvas) 11. Shirt, Wool, OD enlisted men’s with Division Insignia (cut edge patch) 12. T-shirt, summer (tank top) or winter, White or OD 13. Cap, Overseas, OD wool with Paraglider patch on left side (piping according to impression) 14. Tags, Identification ("Dog Tags"), notched, with neck chain and extension 15. Belt, Web, Waist, M1937, Tan 16. Necktie, Khaki (tucked in shirt between the 2nd and 3rd button from the collar.) SECTION B: Additional items required for early to mid war Gliderman: 1. Jacket, Field, Od (aka M41) with unit insignia 2. Trousers, Wool, Serge, Od, Light Shade, Special. 3. Shoes, Service, Combat, worn with Leggings, Canvas, M-1938, Dismounted, Od SECTION C: Additional items required for early to mid War Paratrooper: Early war (Stateside or 1. Coat, Parachute Jumper M42 with unit insignia (Not reinforced) 2. Trousers, Parachute Jumper 3. Boots, Parachute Jumper Mid War ( 1. Coat, Parachute Jumper M42 with unit insignia and small 48 star flag (Reinforced) 2. Trousers, Parachute Jumper (Reinforced) 3. Boots, Parachute Jumper SECTION D: Additional items required for late War Gliderman or Paratrooper (This will limit your impression to Operation Market Garden and later. Although it is a suggested option if the recruit is unsure of which unit he will portray): 1. Jacket, Field, M-1943 with unit insignia, 1 each. 2. Trousers, Field, Cotton, Od (Modified with bellows cargo pockets), 1 each. 3. Boots, Parachute, Jumper, or Boots, Combat, 2 Buckle Type, 1 pair. II WEAPONS Weapons authorized are as follows. HMG, Cal. .50 III UNALLOWABLE PERSONAL ITEMS In order to guarantee that all aspects of historical accuracy are as correct as possible this organization shall prohibit the following items to be used by its members. 1. Except for first time reenactment participants, no non-period eyeglasses shall be worn by members of this unit. 2. All members are prohibited from using/wearing in public view non period wrist watches and food packaging while participating in historical interpretive programming.
